Since death is the outcome of Original Sin and since there are only two people in the history of earth who were born without Original Sin – Jesus and Mary – it follows from the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary that Christ chose to die for us. For Mary, being without Original Sin (indeed without any sin), was taken up body and soul into heaven. Christ, being without Original Sin (indeed without any sin), tt was not necessary for him to die. However, He freely chose death in accordance with the will of his father for us and our salvation. I “Therefore doth the Father love me because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No man taketh it away from me but I lay it down of myself…”

“…relationship with God…”

“…friendship with God…”

These have always been abstractions for me and thus never had really any meaning. Until…

a class on St. Thomas’s Summa led to a discussion re loyalty and trust.

And therein lies my key for de-abstracting “relationship” and “friendship” and it works like this:

God is eternally loyal to us.

Due to sin, we will not always be loyal to Him
but I can have complete Trust in His mercy.

Thus is the relationship; thus is the friendship.

I scourged the Lord and tore the flesh,
I crowned the Lord and flowed the blood,
Yet He comes to me, Sacred Body, Sacred Blood
I go to receive Him who comes to me.

There will be a time when there is no next time.

There are two types of people: those that think and those that think they think. The latter are particularly susceptible to mob rule.
